軋輥產生彈性壓扁時可能軋制的板厚。在一定軋機上軋制一定的產品時，隨著板帶的逐漸變薄，壓下越來越困難。當板帶薄至某一限度后，不管如何旋緊壓下螺絲或加大液壓壓下的壓力，不管反復軋制多少道，由于軋輥產生彈性壓扁而不可能再使產品變薄。這一極限厚度稱為可軋厚度。較大直徑的水平軋輥確定型鋼的的形狀，而較小直徑的一對立輥用于軋制邊部。

(4)特硬輥le氏硬度約為85—100，用于冷軋機。

實踐表明，帶雙鍍槽的軸頭在使用過程中，鑲槽壁容易崩裂，目前常用易加工的帶平臺的袖頭代替雙因槽的抽頭。

直徑超過400mm的冷軋軋輥，在鍛造后，多半在中心饅一個670一250mm的通7L。這樣，一力面可以使軋輥經熱處理店的內應力分朽均勾；另一方面在軋輥表面淬火時，可對軋輥通水冷卻，提高淬火效果。
