加熱質量好。加熱時介質出爐溫度需符合工藝要求，防止局部過熱出現結焦、結炭或危險。

燃料消耗低。站場用加熱爐的能量消耗有10～15％消耗于爐子上，節省的燃料對降低單位成本和節約能源都有重要意義。

The quality of heating is good. The heating temperature of the medium should meet the requirements of the process, preventing the local overheating from coking, carbon or explosion.

在擴散燃燒時，火焰的形狀是長矩形，火焰內部是燃料氣，外部是助燃空氣，燃料氣與空氣的混合是依靠擴散方式進行。當開始預混空氣后，火焰的形狀開始發生變化.

按爐溫分布，爐膛沿長度方向分為預熱段、加熱段和均熱段。進料端爐溫較低為預熱段，其作用在于利用爐氣熱量，以提高爐子的熱效率。加熱段為主要供熱段，爐氣溫度較高，以利于實現快速加熱。
