在安裝時，嚴禁用鐵錘等擊打，防止軸向力或徑向力過大損壞軸承或齒輪。一定要將安裝螺栓旋緊之后再旋緊緊力螺栓。

在電機與減速機連接前，應先將電機軸鍵槽與緊力螺栓垂直。為保證受力均勻，先將任意對角位置的安裝螺栓旋上，但不要旋緊，再旋上另外兩個對角位置的安裝螺栓后逐個旋緊四個安裝螺栓。

減速機的種類：一般的減速機有斜齒輪減速機(包括平行軸斜齒輪減速機、蝸輪減速機、錐齒輪減速機等等)、行星齒輪減速機、擺線針輪減速機、蝸輪蝸桿減速機、行星摩擦式機械無級變速機等等。

對減速機箱體進行共振測試，找出共振位 置，增加適當的筋條（板），可以提高箱體的剛度，減少箱體的振動，實現降噪。多級傳動時要求瞬時傳動比的變化盡量小，以保證傳動平穩，沖擊及振動小，噪聲低。
